(Tuesday, December 19, 2006 - 13:53 EST)
A pioneer in digital imaging, Fraser explained the key concepts in plain English both on the podium and in print, while making important contributions to the essential tools professional photographers rely on.
Bruce Fraser passed away this Saturday in San Francisco after a short battle with lung cancer. He was 52.
The digital imaging industry to which he made significant contributions paused to remember him today both for his accomplishments and his character.
• MacWorld's Rick LePage posted Remembering Brush Fraser.
• Adobe's John Nack posted In Memorium: Bruce Fraser, which includes Dan Margulis's posting from his Applied Color Theory list.
• PixelGenius partner and photographer Jeff Schewe posted a brief notice at Photoshop News, noting Fraser's ashes will be returned to Scotland.
A Macworld tribute to Fraser, planned before his death, will be held Jan. 10, 2007.
