Everything we complained about with the Lensbaby 2.0 has been addressed with the new Lensbaby 3G. We only had two complaints, but the 3G is a big leap forward for this fun lens.
We had a lot of fun with the Lensbaby 2.0, a lens that only focuses on a part of the scene. But holding focus was difficult because we had to freeze our grip.
Enter the Lensbaby 3G, which looks like a lens in some sort of medical brace designed to redefine image stabilization. As complex as the engineering is, the lens itself is a breeze to use.
You select focus just as you do on the Lensbaby 2.0, but then you can lock it with a tap on the Locking Button. And you have two ways to refine it, too, moving it around and sharpening it up. Releasing it for the next shot is just as easy.
