PRESS RELEASE: Scalado at the forefront of mobile imaging in Camera phones
Scalado AutoRama™ and Scalado SpeedView™ just two of the Scalado imaging applications that are set to stand out this year's 3GSM event
Scalado AB, a leading developer of mobile imaging software, announced today that it will be showcasing some of the key features of its new CAPS imaging technology at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona next week, 12-18 February. After a very successful 2006, that saw the Swedish firm break onto the global stage with its unique patented imaging software engine (CAPS) for camera phones, the Barcelona event offers the perfect stage to highlight some its key features and applications to a truly global audience.
2006 not only saw Scalado develop and finalise its most technologically advanced imaging application yet, but also the addition of a number of key industry players to the ever expanding Scalado customer portfolio. Throughout 2007, we will start to see the Scalado CAPS imaging applications integrated into a number of next-generation camera phone platforms.
During 2006 Scalado added MOST of the leading mobile phone manufacturers to its list of clients, which already included Samung and SonyEricsson. Mobile phone users throughout the world will benefit from a wide range of innovative imaging applications that will provide users with a true digital camera experience on their mobile phone.
"Last year was an excellent year for Scalado and we're really looking forward to seeing our imaging technologies reach a wider audience through the sheer number of licensing agreements we'll have in the market in 2007," said Mats Jacobson, CEO Scalado. "With the advent of multi mega-pixel cameraphones, the combined with our CAPS software, users can take digital camera quality pictures all the time, whenever, wherever, as people always carry their mobile phone."
Two notable features of the Scalado CAPS imaging application that will be showcased in Barcelona will include Scalado AutoRama™, which enables stunning multi-megapixel panorama effects, and Scalado SpeedView™, which allows real-time browsing, zooming and panning of images. Both functions operate on a mobile screen without compromising on speed or image quality. In addition, a number of the other CAPS feature modules will be available to look at and talk about with the Scalado team. Being Valentines week, visitors to the Scalado stand can also make their own Valentines card using the Scalado PhotoCard™ demo application, and they will even post it home for you!
The secret behind AutoRama and SpeedView, and all the CAPS feature modules is Scalado's various patented image management technologies. One of them is RAJPEG. RAJPEG is a JPEG codec technology that reduces memory requirements, processing JPEG input and output images in the compressed domain, reducing the amount of RAM memory required by a factor of 25x while still processing full resolution mega pixel images, and increases performance and the speed for image manipulation by a factor of up to 10x.
Scalado will "show you the difference" at this years 3GSM World Congress Event in Barcelona, February 12-15th. Please drop by the stand to pick up a USB memory stick loaded with the latest Scalado demo applications and to witness the technology being demonstrated. Scalado can be found in the Swedish Pavilion in Hall 2, so please drop by the stand, or alternatively please contact [email protected], (+44 (0)1483 537890, +44 (0)7977 065305) to make an appointment to meet Scalado or to receive further information.
