The team takes on two events the day before the show opens.
LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The six-man Imaging Resource crew landed in the Nevada desert yesterday afternoon and immediately set up shop to cover the Photo Marketing Association 2007 International Convention and Trade Show.
Although the trade show doors don't open until tomorrow, the crew will be busy covering two press-only events today.
Senior Editor Shawn Barnett and videographer Luke Smith will be shooting clips of all the exciting new technology while video editor Mike Deuel tries to keep up with them. News editor Michael Tomkins will be taking stills and posting stories on our special PMA 07 show coverage page while Newsletter Editor Mike Pasini contributes a daily Pasini Report. And Publisher Dave Etchells will be digging up the technical details behind the latest and greatest.
SNEAK PEEK
With 650 exhibitors from around the world setting up booths in 12 acres of exhibit space at the Las Vegas Convention Center's South Hall, it can be hard for a company to be seen. One solution to the problem is PMA's Sneak Peek, which will be held today at noon.
Sneak Peek gives 100 of those companies who elect to attend a chance to tell their story in a tabletop presentation. Over 400 members of the press will be in attendance, including Imaging Resource's six-man team.
Among the exhibitors today are Arcsoft, Bogen, Casio, Click Frames, Crumpler, Delkin, DxO, Epson, Express Digital, Kodak, General Imaging, HP, Image Trends, Jobo, JVC, Kingston, Leica, Lensbabies, Lexar, Lowepro, Lynda.com, Nik Multimedia, Olympus, Panasonic, Pantone, Pentax, Samsung, SeeFile, Sharpcast, Shutterfly, Tamrac, Think Tank Photo, X-Rite and Zoom Album.
Several companies plan to make major announcements at the event.
DIGITALFOCUS
The second press-only event takes place this evening. Sponsored by Pepcom, a company that specializes in technology showcases, DigitalFocus shows off companies that may or may not be exhibiting at PMA.
The crew will also attend DigitalFocus this evening, providing both video and text coverage of the media event.
Stayed tuned for our complete coverage of both events. We'll be working as hard as, well, anyone .
