PRESS RELEASE: eXaNetworks, Colour-Science and Colorplaza to Unveil New Nice2Use Digital Photography System at thePhoto Marketing Association (PMA) Show in Las Vegas
Innovative Image Enhancement, Photosharing and Printing Solution to be Demonstrated in Booth M270 beginning Thursday, March 8.
Baeretswil and Vevey, Switzerland, and Portland, Oregon - March 7, 2007 - eXaNetworks, Colour-Science and Colorplaza announced today that they will unveil and demonstrate Nice2Use (N2U), an integrated and automated system for sharing and printing images, at the upcoming Photo Marketing Association (PMA) show in Las Vegas. Beginning Thursday, March 8, the three companies will provide visitors a hands-on experience with their innovative solution for automatically enhancing stored images and instantaneously making that content available for output at a popular digital photography print service provider. Each company involved in the joint venture has leveraged its own proven area of expertise in imaging - enhancement, sharing and online printing - to produce a time- and energy-saving system for the fast-growing world of digital photographers.
"Nice2Use delivers significant benefits and a highly improved experience for photographers," said Patrick Serex, CEO, eXaNetworks. "Between image capture and the moment when a customer has his or her prints in-hand, very few steps are required. By working together and leveraging our companies' respective strengths, we've reduced the steps involved and created a seamless imaging process that will please both the customer and the photo printing company serving that customer."
Nice2Use provides time-saving automated functionality, such as wireless transfer of captured content from the photographer's digital camera to his or her computer (via Bluetooth technology), and automatic image enhancement and image rotation, if necessary. In addition, Nice2Use automatically uploads captured content to a Webalbum, which generates an email with a link where the recently uploaded images can be ordered. The automated process saves time and energy, and improves the user's overall digital photography experience.
Thanks to the advanced technology built into the new system, the benefits of this process extend to photographers using both traditional and non-traditional digital image-capture devices, such as camera-phones and camera-enabled PDAs. With N2U's solution, photographers using such devices can greatly reduce administrative time by having their images automatically enhanced, organized and archived for easy retrieval, and then uploaded almost instantaneously to a photo-sharing server. Among many other automatic enhancements incorporated into the new system are typical manual actions such as image rotation and red-eye reduction.
As part of the new process, the N2U system instantly publishes captured content to a private web page and allows the photographer to view the enhanced pictures and share them with friends and family. Unlike other popular image-sharing websites, however, both the photographer and website visitors can select images and directly order prints.
By leveraging the technology provided by each partner company, the value proposition for online digital photography is dramatically improved. Colour-Science ensures that captured images are automatically enhanced to higher quality, while eXaNetworks' custom-built photo-sharing infrastructure provides among the fastest and most efficient sharing processes available. In addition, Colorplaza, a global leader in photo printing, provides world-class quality, reliability and service, completing the fully integrated digital photography system.
About the Nice2Use Joint Venture Addressing a real-world need for an improved digital photography process, three well-regarded digital imaging organizations - eXaNetworks, Colour-Science and Colorplaza - have partnered to create a new and highly automated system for enhancing images and instantly making them available for sharing and convenient printing. Each company is leveraging its expertise - including automated image enhancement, red eye removal, efficient online photo sharing and digital image printing - to offer an easy-to-use system that improves the photographer's experience while reducing administrative processes.
