PRESS RELEASE: InvenSense To Demonstrate Its Gyro-Based Blurfree® Image Stabilization Technology With Zoran At PMA 2007
SANTA CLARA, Calif., March 6, 2007 - InvenSense, the leading provider of motion sensing solutions for mobile applications, today announced it will demonstrate its gyro-based BlurFree® image stabilization technology with Zoran Corporation's COACH image processor for digital cameras at the Photo Marketing Association PMA show in Las Vegas, Las Vegas Convention Center, South Hall, at Zoran's Tech Suite X122.
InvenSense's BlurFree image stabilization technology eliminates unwanted blur caused by hand shake when taking pictures or video with digital cameras. InvenSense's IDG-1000 integrated dual-axis gyroscope is used to track the movement of the camera caused by the natural hand shake of the user. The BlurFree technology running on Zoran's COACH image processor converts the hand shake information in real time and synchronizes the information with the camera shutter and image sensor to select the best picture. Additional BlurFree techniques are used to remove other unwanted artifacts in the picture.
"Recent consumer surveys indicate that image stabilization is one of the top three features along with higher megapixels and zoom capability that consumers look for when buying a new digital camera," said Dan Goehl, InvenSense's vice president of sales. "InvenSense's IDG-1000 gyroscope is used today by many leading digital camera makers for image stabilization and our BlurFree technology used with Zoran's COACH image processor makes it easy for digital cameras makers without such technology to quickly adopt a high quality image stabilization solution."
