General Imaging: Four new E-series digicams

Continuing its 2007 Photo Marketing Show Spring tradeshow debut, General Imaging has launched four digital cameras for the new General Electric E-series.
The General Electric E850, E1030, E1040 and E1240 all feature fairly similar styling. The first model is the GE E850, featuring eight megapixel resolution, a larger-than-average 3.0" LCD display, and a generous 5x optical zoom lens. The GE 1030 boosts sensor resolution to ten megapixels, but drops the LCD to a slightly smaller 2.7"-type, and includes a less versatile 3x optical zoom lens. Stepping up to the GE 1040, you'll get ten megapixels of resolution coupled to a 3.0" LCD display and a 4x optical zoom lens - middle ground between those of the previous two cameras. Finally, the GE 1240 features the same 3.0" LCD and 4x optical zoom as the 1040, but with a whopping twelve megapixel resolution. One further difference between the four models is in ISO sensitivity - the General Electric E1030, E1040 and E1240 all reach further to ISO 3200, where the GE 850 is limited to ISO 1600 max. All four cameras are alike in their use of a proprietary Lithium Ion battery, USB and NTSC / PAL video connectivity, 26MB of built-in memory and SD / MMC card slots.
