It's all a matter of your perspective -- and Phanfare's CEO get his from a cloud.
Our report on Apple TV focused primarily on our desire to see the pictures we take with our digital cameras displayed on our HDTV. But if you're the CEO of a photo sharing site, you might be a little more ambitious.
Phanfare CEO Andrew Erlichson missed the FedEx delivery of his Apple TV but he couldn't wait another day. He went down to the distribution center to pick it up and, clearly, had a sleepless night.
"Synching a device with a desktop computer is not really what you want," he writes in his review. "What you want is to Sync Apple TV with the cloud.... Of course, what I am describing is a Phanfare/Apple TV combination."
Just imagine that! Your photos and videos streamed to you from Phanfare, not just your local network. No bothersome syncing, plenty of resolution, no worries about video formats. We think he's on to something (something Apple should have been thinking about with .Mac).
