The company announces CS3 compatibility, AutoFrame Alignment with Free Rotation and a new blog, too!
With its latest update to SilverFast, LaserSoft Imaging has included "a number of optimizations and improvements (and yes them nasty little bugfixes too) under the hood." Release 6.5.0r5 is the first to be compatible with Photoshop CS 3 but it also adds a few features.
The new AutoFrame Alignment and Free Rotation "will not only 'find' and frame your originals with the click of a button, it will align the images in a rectangle order," the company said. "This means pictures will automatically be rotated to be horizontally aligned. The days of manually cropping and aligning the scanned images in your favorite image editing application are over."
Manual rotation (to straighten a horizon, for example) is also available as is manual adjustment of the crop.
The new release also supports the eciRGBv2 color space. The European Color Initiative's eciRGBv2 color space is based on the LStarRGB profile from Color Solutions.
The update is availabel from https://www.silverfast.com/get_update/en.html or the Webupdater from within SilverFast.
The company also announced it has "joined the ever growing community of bloggers with our own SilverFast blog. On our blog we wish to present you a well selected mix of news, tips and tutorials, either SilverFast related or generally to Digital Imaging." The new blog's URL is http://blog.silverfast.com.
