Sharing and Imaging Features Make Digital Photography Easier than Ever

MELVILLE, NY (August 30, 2007) - Nikon today announced the launch of eight new COOLPIX digital cameras specifically designed to give consumers freedom in their picture taking and sharing: that's freedom from wires, freedom from hours in front of a computer, and freedom from poor photos. Created in response to the growing demand for advanced photographic capabilities in an easy-to-use product, the new line of COOLPIX digital cameras incorporates Nikon In-Camera Innovations and other features to ensure high quality photos and a great picture taking experience. Nikon has also created my Picturetown, in conjunction with enhanced Wi-Fi integration, enabling consumers to easily take beautiful pictures, email, and store them at the touch of a button.

"From parents snapping endless pictures of their kids, to taking fun pictures after work at the club, to composing artistic landscapes, Nikon understands that consumer's photographic expertise and needs are different, which is why the latest COOLPIX cameras include a wide array of features and options for every type of photographer," says Bill Giordano, General Manager Marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon Inc. "With our advancements in regards to Face Priority and Wi-Fi integration, Nikon is making it easier than ever to capture and share great images around the world."

This latest line of COOLPIX cameras includes an enhanced Face Priority AF system, which, when activated, can find and focus on a subject's face before a picture is taken.

Performance will vary by model, but each COOLPIX camera will be able to find and focus on either five or twelve faces in a frame, faster and more efficiently than ever before. Each COOLPIX camera also utilizes a new image processing system, called EXPEEDTM, for enhanced overall digital imaging performance. Nikon has also included Vibration Reduction into a number of the new COOLPIX cameras to ensure sharp and steady pictures by compensating for camera shake.

As an added value to the consumer, Nikon's new L-series camera, the COOLPIX L14 has been engineered to offer superior battery life. The COOLPIX L14 will be able to capture an astounding 1,000 shots with the supplied pair of AA Energizer® e2 ® Lithium® batteries, the most of any camera in its class.

Nikon has also continued to develop its wireless transfer technology with the COOLPIX S51c. Using the S51c's new, convenient One-Touch Email with the Picture Mail button and Nikon's new photo storage and sharing service, my Picturetown, consumers can take advantage of several avenues for sharing their images and videos. Through my Picturetown, users can e-mail pictures directly to friends and family, publish pictures to Flickr ®, and link their photos to blogs and social networking sites. Pictures can also be sent to a Blackberry ® for viewing. Each S51c ships with six-months of complimentary T-Mobile™ Hotspot™ Wi-Fi service for digital cameras, allowing the user to send images and videos to my Picturetown from over 8,200 T-Mobile ™ HotSpots™, nationwide.

In addition, S51c owners can utilize my Picturetown to securely store up to 2 gigabytes of pictures and movies, providing a valuable back up to SD memory card storage. Not only will users be able to access my Picturetown from their computers, but through a Blackberry ® as well, providing instant access to their images anytime, anywhere.

The new COOLPIX camera line-up will be available nationwide beginning September 2007. For more information about this and other COOLPIX cameras, please visit www.nikonusa.com.
