PRESS RELEASE: FotoNation Partners With 6Sight & PMA To Showcase International Face Imaging Scientists
Speakers Announced for Conference
Burlingame, CA, October 25, 2007 - FotoNation®, http://www.fotonation.com, a world-leading provider of embedded imaging solutions for the imaging industry, announced today that they have partnered with 6Sight and PMA to showcase some of the best international research scientists on face-based imaging technology at the 2007 6Sight® Future of Imaging Conference in Monterey, California on November 8, 2007.
The presentation, entitled, "The Human Face: Leading Edge Technologies to Detect and Analyze Faces" features leading face-based imaging scientists: - Marian Stewart Bartlett, Ph.D., Associate Research Professor at the Institute for Neural Computation, will present real-time facial expression detection, a computer-based system for real time detection of basic emotions (happy, sad) and facial expression, such smiling and blinking.
- Dr. John Ghent, Professor, National University of Ireland, will demo real-time face synthesis that shows how photographs of faces can be morphed into expressions not captured in the original image, such as changing the expression a subject's face from a frown to a smile.
- Ariel Shamir, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer at the Efi Arazi School of Computer Science, will show seam carving - a new approach to image scaling that preserves key scene features, while reducing non-essential elements.
