New York, NY (December 18, 2007) - The holidays have come early for ten lucky families that have been chosen to be a part of Panasonic's Living in High Definition program, an ongoing initiative designed to explore how the latest High Definition television and video technologies can enrich the American lifestyle. The Panasonic Living in HD program, which will continue through 2008, is on track to grow to a total of 30 families. Currently 14 families are part of the Living in HD program and more families will be added in December. Families that are interested in participating can submit an entry at LivinginHD.com and answer the fourth challenge question: "What Type of Public Service Announcement Would Your Family Create?" The applications for this next phase are being accepted now through December 21, 2007.
The ten families selected in this phase of the experiential program hail from Sacramento, Calif.; Highlands Ranch, Colo.; Tall Timbers, Md.; Clovis, N.M.; Vance, Ala.; Ogden, Utah; Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.; Greensburg, Pa.; Alpharetta, Ga. and Pasco, Wash.
One set of families were chosen among a larger group of applicants that creatively answered the question: "What Does a Modern Family Mean to You?" The winning entries described how their family works together to balance hectic schedules and how they follow their passions and interests. An additional group of family submissions were asked: "What Makes Your Family, Your Town and Your Home So Unique?" Five families where chosen from these submissions for their creative answers in describing their community and what makes their family special.
"That these ten new families have entered into the program marks an exciting milestone for our Living in HD program," said Dr. Paul Liao, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Panasonic Corporation of North America.
