With a 6x zoom, optical image stabilization, 2.5-inch LCD, 7.2-megapixel sensor, and a stack of shooting modes, the Panasonic Lumix LZ7 has all the makings of a winning digital camera design, for under $200.
Its High Sensitivity mode promises a lot but unfortunately doesn't deliver; though the Panasonic LZ7's ISO 1,250 mode does pretty well in well-balanced light. A special button on the top deck rushes you through the extreme ends of the zoom's available settings, from 37-222mm, and out to its 9x extended optical zoom, which crops the image to a 3-megapixel resolution.
Using two AA batteries, the LZ7 is a good basic take-anywhere camera with a good quality, stabilized zoom lens. Click here to read our review of the Panasonic Lumix LZ7.
