Canon Releases EOS Utility Update for Macs By

Resolves a problem with Live View dSLRs and EOS Utility 2.2 on the Mac
Canon has released an update to its EOS Utilty to correct an image transfer and save problem on Live View-enabled EOS digital cameras. Cameras affected include the EOS-1Ds Mark III, EOS 1D Mark III and EOS 40D.
"After displaying the Live View window using the remote shooting function of EOS Utility 2.2 for Macintosh," Canon reported in a technical advisory, "if you close the Live View window and release the shutter from the camera, the EOS Utility software will stop responding. When this occurs, images will neither be transferred nor saved to the computer, nor displayed on the screen. Additionally, images will not be saved to the memory card unless, before shooting, 'Save also on the camera's memory card' is selected in the 'Preferences' menu of EOS Utility's remote shooting function."
The problem does not affect the Windows version of EOS Utility.
