Pentax Imaging Co. has announced a special rebate scheme available only to full-time photography students and educators purchasing new Pentax equipment from an authorized dealer.
The rebates are pretty generous, and could easily save each individual several hundred dollars for, say, a DSLR body with a handful of lenses and a flash strobe. The K200D is eligible for a $75 rebate in either body-only or kit form, and the K20D body-only has a $100 rebate. A wide selection of twenty one lenses are also eligible for rebates - either $50 or $75 apiece. Finally, three flash strobes are covered, with either $25 or $50 rebates depending on the model.
Full details of the eligible products can be found in Pentax's Student Program form, along with the exact process to apply for the rebates, and details eligibility requirements. In brief though, the application process involves sending in a copy of the form along with original receipt and UPC code, plus a copy of your student / faculty ID card, and a copy of either your class schedule / copy of registration (for students) or your course curriculum / outline (for educators).
The rebate program covers purchases made between April 1st and June 30th 2008, and rebate requests must be postmarked within 30 days of the date of purchase.
