Originally set for 5GB, the free membership level has been reset to 2GB of storage.
Adobe today announced a change in the storage capacity of its free Photoshop.com Basic Membership. The company will provide 2GB of free storage instead of the previously announced 5GB capacity, which matches the current Photoshop Express limit.
The Photoshop.com Plus paid membership storage capacity remains the same at 20GB, Adobe confirmed.
"Even with this change," the company said, "we believe the offering for free members is competitive in the market and provides users a strong overall set of benefits."
Adobe explained the difference in membership levels:
Photoshop.com Plus membership provides 20GB of storage -- enough for 15,000 photos, four hours of DVD-quality videos or a combination of both. Online back-up keeps memories safe from computer failure or natural disaster, with access from anywhere, via a personal account linked to the software. Photoshop.com Basic membership can be experienced for free, providing 2GB of storage, access to photos and videos virtually anywhere and online photo sharing in a fun interactive environment.
