Roll your own Photoshop panels.
Photoshop may be the industry standard -- but that covers a lot of industries. So the program's interface is pretty general. As it has increased in complexity, many of its efficiencies have been hidden. And it can be very difficult to demonstrate any you've discovered to coworkers or friends.
Enter Configurator. Adobe will release this utility on Adobe Labs when Creative Suite 4 ships but we got a prelease version to play with. And we went right to work, building two custom panels to handle two tasks we do every day: resize images and retouch them.
It took no programming smarts to built the panels (just drag and drop) but we were surprised by how useful they were. Read our review for the full story.
