Sixty-one shots from the show floor including the anti-glare MacBook Pro, Nikon and Canon booths and more...
SAN FRANCISCO -- We've been walking the aisles at Macworld Expo and sitting in on a few presentations but today's report is a 61 image slide show of the Expo. Click on an image to view the show with captions, which are more extensive than usual.
We were able to get a side-by-side shot of the new 17-inch MacBook Pro that compares the glassy screen with the anti-glare screen. The non-removable battery will cost $179 to replace in what Apple estimates to be about five years of normal use. But the battery design also restricts more common upgrades like hard disk and RAM replacement.
The anti-glare screen mounts a little differently from the glassy screen, too. There is an aluminum bezel around the anti-glare screen absent on the glassy screen.
We've also got some shots of iPhoto's new features in the Apple booth section.
At the other end of the spectrum, we spent some time with Marco Paolini again. This time his $100 filter set has been picked up by Tiffen. We have screen shots of the variable focus filter, the defogging filter and the masking tool. The whole set of over 110 filters (see the list) runs in a standalone app or as a plug-in for Photoshop and Aperture.
And in between, we tour the Canon, HP and Nikon booths and find a few other spots worth visiting.
See the slide show for the tour.
