The Pentax 55mm f/1.4 SDM SMC DA* was announced at the end of 2008, one of the latest to sport Pentax's new SDM ultrasonic autofocusing technology. The lens is a definitive departure from Pentax's previous 50mm f/1.4, and with a price point of over $700, it's easily one of the most expensive 50mm-style lenses on the market.
