Sam Street and Sean Miller - the London-based programmers behind photo gallery website Picli.com - have announced the beta launch of their latest creation.
Dubbed Twicli, their new service aims to make it easy for users of the popular Twitter website to share photos and video. Twicli piggybacks on Twitter's login and styling information, ensuring a consistent user experience between both sites.
Sets of photos and/or videos are uploaded together, and appear as a single tweet in friends' pages. Reduced-size, web-friendly versions of images are created on upload, while full-size versions remain available if desired. Video length isn't limited by time, although there's a 50MB limit on each video file. Comments can be left on either photos or videos.
Twicli is said to be compatible with the upcoming iPhone 3.0 operating system. Planned features for the future include an iPhone application, integration with Google Maps, comment moderation, video thumbnails, and more.
