Last year, Pentax updated its standard kit lens, the Pentax 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL II SMC DA, to improve results when mated with digital cameras featuring higher resolution sensors, such as the 14.6-megapixel K20D. With one less lens element and a weight loss of just 5 grams, the old and new lenses appear practically the same, but our testing shows there's more than meets the eye.
