DxO Optics Pro now supports the Sony Alpha A850, a full-frame digital SLR that's closely related to the Alpha A900, but with a more affordable body-only pricetag of $2,000.
An interesting forum post from DxO Labs' head of customer care under the username "Gaël" sheds a little light on the announcement, which followed the camera's announcement by only one day (note that a free membership is required to read DxO's forum). According to Gaël, DxO was approached by Sony Europe several months ago, and a deal was signed for a full version of DxO Optics Pro to be included with the Sony A850 in some European countries. For that reason, DxO received access to the A850 in advance of its announcement, enabling the update to be released shortly after the Alpha A850's public debut.
DxO Optics Pro Elite initially supports eleven lenses when used with the A850 body. The full list can be found in the press release below.
