September 24th, 2009, BOULDER, Colo. -- LifePics announced today that its new iPhone app, called "LifePics for iPhone," has been approved by Apple and is now available to all iPhone and iPod Touch users for free from Apple's App Store. The LifePics for iPhone app allows users to upload photos from their iPhone or iPod Touch to their LifePics online photo account, view online albums on their iPhone or iPod Touch, and create new online photo accounts in the LifePics network from their mobile devices.

"We are thrilled that LifePics has developed and launched this app for iPhone and iPod Touch users," said Brian Stalker, Manager of Elmhurst Camera in Elmhurst, Il. "There are millions of images out there that are stored on iPhones all over the world, but people have not had an easy way to print those images without connecting their iPhones to their computers and waiting for the images to upload. Thanks to LifePics and this new app, those images can now be easily sent to online accounts and printed at our retail store."

iPhone and iPod Touch users can download the LifePics for iPhone app for free from Apple's App Store. Additional features include the ability to upload multiple photos simultaneously, upload photos at full resolution, and view existing online albums from an iPhone. The app caters to everyday consumers by providing them with an easy-to-use upload tool; uploading is the biggest pain point for online imaging consumers, and the LifePics for iPhone app makes the upload process much easier. Future versions of the app will include the ability to order prints and other photo products directly from an iPhone through the consumer's favorite retail photofinisher in the LifePics network.

"Consumers are relying more and more on mobile devices as a primary camera in their day to day lives, and mobile devices are quickly becoming more sophisticated in their picture-taking abilities," said Ken McDonald, Vice President of Marketing at LifePics. "Developing an iPhone app was the obvious next step to converting millions of iPhone images into transactions for photofinishers in our network. We are constantly looking for new ways to drive orders to our retailers, and we are extremely excited to launch this new app as a new revenue stream. We look forward to future versions and expanded functionality within the app in the coming weeks and months ahead."
