In May 2009, Sony introduced some new dSLR cameras, with a new kit lens to accompany them: the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 DT SAM. While not as long as the previous kit lens (18-70mm), the new lens features Sony's new SAM (Smooth Autofocus Motor) autofocus system and curved aperture blades.
