Japan's Ichikawa Soft Laboratory has just published a release candidate version of its upcoming SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro v4.0 that adds support for several Foveon image sensor-based digital cameras.

Currently available on the Windows platform only, the SILKYPIX Developer Studio Pro Test Version for Foveon v4.1.24.1 supports Sigma's SD14 digital SLR, as well as the company's DP1 and DP2 fixed-lens cameras.

The test version is available free of charge during the trial period, is time-limited to operate until November 30, 2009 and is available for download on an English-language section of the company's website. The English-language release follows just two weeks behind the availability of a trial version for Japanese speakers. The Japanese-language website also reveals that a version for Mac OS users is currently under development.

In parallel, the company has also released 'Early Preview' versions of Developer Studio 4.0 and Developer Studio Pro 4.0 for Japanese-language speakers that add support for the Pentax K-x and Canon PowerShot G11 digital cameras. Provided that you can read Japanese, both the Developer Studio 4.0 Early Preview v4.0.26 and Developer Studio Pro Early Preview v4.1.26 are available now on the Windows and Mac OS platforms.
