The folks over at wireless trigger company PocketWizard have announced an upcoming eight-city tour to demonstrate their products, with an interesting twist.

Conducted by professional photographer Mark Wallace of SnapFactory, the tour has stops scheduled in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York, Phoenix, and Seattle. The final stop is to be chosen by public vote, with the SnapFactory blog listing eighteen possibilities across the USA, and allowing visitors to suggest their own city if it's not already on the list. The tour is free of charge, and will allow attendees to learn about and try out PocketWizard's products.

If you're not familiar with Mark Wallace, the SnapFactory website provides a brief summary of his work and some of the better-known clients and publishers with which he's worked. Mark recently conducted an event for PocketWizard at the PhotoPlus Expo. To vote for him to come to your city, visit the SnapFactory blog and get your vote in before noon MST on 25 December 2009. Newly suggested cities will be added to the voting list after ten suggestions for any specific destination are received.

Mark Wallace Embarks on U.S. Meetup Tour Sponsored by PocketWizard

Elmsford NY – October 30, 2009 – Noted photographer and educational guru Mark Wallace of SnapFactory fame is heading out on an eight-city U.S tour. In each city he’ll host a free meetup featuring demonstrations of his lighting techniques with a live model. Photographers will be able to interact with Mark on a one-to-one basis as well as get to do some shooting. The tour is sponsored by PocketWizard® and Mark will be showing how to get the most out of the new MiniTT1 transmitter and FlexTT5 by using them creatively while offering a basketful of useful tips.

Photographers are encouraged to bring their own camera and lots of memory, because there will be open studio time with the model and PW’s own flash gear. Have questions about the products? A PocketWizard representative will be there to help photographers find answers. Mark Wallace says bring some enthusiasm and creativity because this is going to be fun!

Photographers who own FlexTT5’s can bring them and receive the new AC5 Soft Shield for each one on the spot. PocketWizard is also offering an unprecedented 30-day Satisfaction Guarantee. For a limited time, U.S. customers can purchase the system, try it out for 30-days and if not completely satisfied, simply return it to their dealer for a full refund — no questions asked.

Strobist readers will remember David Hobby’s comments not too long ago, giving Mark Wallace high marks for demonstrating the Mini/Flex system and showing how to solve problems during a live demo at PhotoPlus.

The current tour schedule includes Miami, Seattle, New York, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Atlanta, Nashville and a Secret Location. What? What was that last one? You tell us! PocketWizard is asking you and your photographer buddies to vote for the last stop on this tour. The city/town with the most entries gets a special stop on the Mark Wallace U.S. Meetup Tour. Get out the vote and we will represent you in your hometown. Voting will be announced here: http://blog.snapfactory.com/?cat=53
