Through the company's beta lab page, PocketWizard has issued a new beta release of firmware for its ControlTL MiniTT1 transmitter and FlexTT5 transceiver that includes several new or refined features, plus one bug fix.
The firmware installation process requires the latest beta version of PocketWizard Utility 1.19.9 for PC or Mac, and both the beta firmware and utility are available for public download. New features in the ControlTL MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 beta firmware include automatic camera model detection (allowing optimized High Speed Sync out of the box), optimized high speed sync crossover detection, the ability to set flash exposure compensation for a remote FlexTT5-mounted Speedlite, and compatibility with the Canon-compatible variant of Metz's 58 AF-1 flash strobe. Pre-flash boost mode has also been refined, and a bug with white balance color shifts when using high-speed sync with the FlexTT5 is said to have been fixed. More details on the updates, as well as the process for installing, providing feedback and reporting issues can be found in the PocketWizard beta lab.
