PRESS RELEASE: Introducing ALBUM2, the Easiest Way to Keep, View and Share Digital Images and Video in a Post-Print World
International CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Award honoree launches latest version of portable digital photo album, providing a high-quality viewing experience and an instantaneous way to share.
Consumer Electronics Show, LAS VEGAS – JANUARY 7, 2010 – Today, ALBUMteam introduced ALBUM2, a portable digital gallery for keeping, viewing, and sharing video and still images. Recipient of an International CES Innovations 2010 Design and Engineering Award, ALBUM2 is a single-purpose, dedicated device designed exclusively to return the magic to your images - by giving you a high-quality viewing experience and an instantaneous way to share. ALBUM2 will be available at retail, spring 2010.
With ALBUM2, it’s possible to view your own home videos and still photos on a crystal-clear, cutting-edge 7” display, which presents images in uncompromised size and quality (800 x 480 pixels, 130 DPI).
Additionally, via Wi-Fi, ALBUM2 can connect to Web-based content stored on online photo-sharing websites and social networks, including popular sites like Flickr, Picasa, YouTube and Facebook.
“87.3 million user-generated video consumers are expected in 2010 and Flickr is now averaging 1 billion picture uploads a year. We developed ALBUM2 specifically to address these new ways consumers are sharing their lives,” said Dominika Nell Applova, ALBUMteam co-founder and creative director. “ALBUMteam looks forward to continuing to innovate at the pace of market trends.”
ALBUM2 is the next generation of ALBUM, the first portable digital photo album from ALBUMteam, which was launched at CES 2009. Like the original ALBUM, ALBUM2 is the size of a slim personal diary and the weight of a fresh apple. With a genuine leather protective case and simple three-button navigation system, ALBUM and ALBUM2 are simple to use, beautiful to view, and easy to take along.
Never miss an opportunity to show off and share your latest life adventures and achievements—from hiking Yosemite to your child’s first music recital—since ALBUM2 is automatically and instantly refreshed every time there is an update to any of your online media sources. These updates from the Web can be automatically pushed to friends’ and family’s ALBUMs as well, so they never miss a special moment, no matter where they are in the world. And when those images arrive in your ALBUM2 from across the globe without even a push of a button? It’s like magic.
“There’s been so much buzz about all the new devices for photo and video creation, but we believe the real magic is in viewing your images,” continued Applova. “It’s simple: every camera needs an ALBUM.”
ALBUM is unlike immobile digital picture frames that collect dust because they are difficult to use and update, or small-screen cell phones that are okay for previews but not much more, or laptops that can be cumbersome and heavy. ALBUM and ALBUM2 were designed to satisfy the most demanding consumers, offering them ease of use, portability, and style.
ALBUM2 can hold 40,000 photos and videos, which can be uploaded directly from your camera, laptop, or any USB device, including other ALBUMs. It also has a built-in SD memory card reader. One battery charge lasts an entire dinner party (3 hours).
