DxO Labs has today released an update to its photo processing application, DxO Optics Pro that adds new support for cameras and lenses from Panasonic, Pentax and Sony, as well as extending compatibility to include a range of lenses from Canon, Fujifilm and Nikon.
The new release - Optics Pro v6.1.2 - now supports the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 compact and the single-lens direct view Lumix DMC-GH1, as well as the prosumer Pentax K-7 digital SLR, and both the Sony Alpha A500 and Alpha A550 digital SLRs. With the exception of the Sony models, initial support for the new bodies is rather limited, with only one lens module available for the Panasonic GH1, and two modules for the Pentax K7. The company has also updated its short-term roadmap to detail further lens modules that should be available in the first quarter of 2010, and there are a further six lens modules for the K7 on the list (albeit one of them near-identical to one of the currently supported lenses). GH1 owners will find no further support on the short-term roadmap, however. For the Sony cameras, there are six lens modules available initially for the Alpha A500, and seven modules for the Alpha A550. A further six lens modules are promised this quarter for the A500, along with six new modules for the A550. Alongside the new body and lens support for Panasonic, Pentax and Sony, DxO has added a whopping 64 new lens modules for a range of Canon, Fuji and Nikon digital SLRs. Owners of the Canon EOS 7D , Nikon D3000 and D300s, and Sony A230, A330 and A380 will find a particularly large selection of new lens support. Other models with a lesser number of new modules include the Canon EOS 20D, 30D, 40D, and 50D, as well as the Rebel XSi, XTi and T1i, the Nikon D200, D300, D50, D5000 and D80, and the Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro. The full list of newly supported and upcoming lens modules per manufacturer and camera body is as follows: Canon: -
