PRESS RELEASE: Red Dot Design Award Winner 2010
March 2010 – We are happy to share with you that our new Kata backpack “Bumblebee Ultra Light” has won the prestigious red dot design award for 2010.
The reddot design award is an international design competition. This year more than 1,600 companies from 57 countries took part in the competition with a total of 4,252 entries.
Our product was competing in the “Entertainment Technology and Cameras” category and in previous years the iPod nano and the Nikon D3 were among the winners in this category.
As an award winning product, the Bumblebee Ultra Light will be presented in the reddot design museum in Germany, in the reddot Yearbook and on the online exhibition.

Bumblebee-222 UL is a Camera + bag designed with a double compartment concept -- In the lower compartment there is room for a Pro DSLR with up to 70-200 F/2.8 lens attached + additional body + 4 lenses + flash + accessories while in the upper compartment there is plenty of space for personal effects. Additional storage is available for 17" laptops and other personal effects. When needed the lower compartment can be emptied of the padded dividers and pouches and the zippered partition between the two compartments can be opened to create one large storage space.
