Authored by Japan's Ichikawa Soft Laboratory, SILKYPIX Developer Studio v4.0 is available for users of both Windows and Mac operating systems in two variants - either standard or Pro.
For Mac users, SILKYPIX Developer Studio v4.0 is newly available in the US market in both standard and Pro versions. The latest versions of the program for Windows are v4.0.31.1 for standard users, and v4.1.31.2 for Pro users. Changes from previous versions include support for the Canon EOS Rebel T2i (aka EOS 550D / EOS Kiss X4), the Sony Alpha A450, and the Olympus Pen E-PL1. The Pro version also fixes a problem with white balance for the Nikon D300.
Compared to the standard SILKYPIX Developer Studio 4.0, the Pro version adds batch processing and renaming, an Edit history, Spot Removal and Dodge tools, several multi-preview modes, the ability to display tone adjustments as a histogram curve, a banding noise correction function, EXIF / IPTC metadata editing, text and graphic overlay output / printing templates, and the ability to save custom settings and unsharp mask adjustments for reuse.
Thru 21 May 2010, both Mac and Windows users can upgrade from SILKYPIX 3.0 (non-OEM versions) to SILKYPIX Developer Studio v4.0 Pro for approximately US$100. Customers with SILKYPIX SE 2.0 or 3.0 can upgrade to the standard SILKYPIX Developer Studio v4.0 for around US$120.
