Adobe has posted a TechNote advising customers of a potential crash issue when running Adobe CS3 applications on Mac OS X 10.6.3 in certain configurations.

According to the TechNote, Adobe CS3 applications can crash on launch -- in some cases because the Mac's system serial number contains more than twelve characters. Adobe notes that it believes this to be the case only on systems without a valid serial number.

Three possible solutions to the problem are provided by Adobe. Customers are advised to either roll back their operating system to Mac OS X 10.6.2, contact Apple or their retailer to obtain a new system serial number, or (if the problem isn't related to serial number length) disable the "Open using Rosetta" option on CS3 applications.

Adobe states that it is working with Apple to further understand the issue and create a fix. More details can be found in the Adobe TechNote.
