PRESS RELEASE: PMA Australia 2010 nears – with new look and new name
JACKSON, Mich. – PMA and the Photo Imaging Council of Australia (PICA) have renamed the annual Asia-Pacific photo show the PMA Australia 2010 Digital Life Expo; it will take place June 4-6, 2010, at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Formerly called the PMA Australia Imaging Technology Show, the event features cutting-edge technology, software, output printing systems, and imaging-related products from more than 100 major photo and digital companies from Australia and overseas. “The new name of the show, ‘Digital Life Expo,’ recognizes the convergence of technologies in conventional imaging and consumer electronics,” says Peter Rose, PMA Director of Australian Activities. “More of our members are selling a wider range of products and services to the consumer to help them show, share, and use the billions of pictures that are now captured.” The 10,000-square-meter show floor will feature workshops, product displays, an imaging theatre, and “how to” demonstrations – all designed to entertain, educate, and make use of those images. The show floor features some of the leading brand names in photo imaging, including Fujifilm, Canon, HP Co., Nikon, Panasonic, Olympus, Samsung, Maxwell International Australia, and Epson. The photo-trade only PMA Australia 2010 Conference, June 3-6, is held in conjunction with the Digital Life Expo and includes sessions for retailers, distributors, and photographers. Highlighting the programming is an opening keynote presentation fromJeff Kennett, a former advertising guru who served in the Victorian State Parliament for more than 23 years. Kennett is currently chairman of Open Windows Australia Pty. Ltd. and Australian Commercial Catering Pty. Ltd.; he is also chairman of the board of management of PFD Food Services Pty. Ltd. and Amtek Corp. Pty. Ltd. Kennett’s presentation, sponsored by Olympus Imaging Australia, will cover potential growth areas in Australia and changes in society. For full details on registration and how to obtain free admission to the largest photo imaging equipment and materials show in the Southern Hemisphere, attendees can go to the PMA Australia website.
