We've just received a production-level unit of the new Panasonic Lumix G2 SLD digital camera, and have posted our first set of test shots from it straight from the lab.
The most notable feature of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 is its 3.0" tilt/swivel liquid crystal display, which includes a touch panel through which functions including autofocus and even shutter release can be controlled. The Panasonic Lumix G2 also provides an electronic viewfinder with extremely high 1,440,000 dots resolution. Burst shooting is possible at up to 3.2 frames per second, and the Lumix DMC-G2's ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 to 6,400 equivalents. Another particularly notable feature of the Panasonic G2 is its high-definition movie capability, offering up to 30 frames per second at 720p resolution, with a choice of either AVCHD Lite or QuickTime Motion JPEG compression. Read our Panasonic G2 Preview for more, and visit the Panasonic G2 Samples page for all the test images we've shot so far, including links to select .RW2 RAW files. Stay tuned for more Panasonic G2 test shots from the lab in the coming days!
