The new firmware will bring the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF1 to version 1.2, the Lumix DMC-GH1 to version 1.3, and the Lumix G1 to version 1.5, respectively. In all three cases, autofocus performance with third-party lenses has been improved. The firmware also adds an "Off" option to each cameras' Image Stabilizer menu item, which will appear when the Lumix G Vario 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 Asph. Mega O.I.S. lens (model H-FS014042) is attached. This change takes account of the fact that the lens lacks a stabilizer switch on its body, which previously made it impossible to disable the stabilizer when it was in use.
These are the only two changes applicable to GF1 firmware v1.2. For both the GH1 and G1,the new firmware releases also improve flash accuracy.
Finally, the Panasonic GH1 firmware v1.3 has two further changes. It improves AF performance in Full HD movie mode when using Four Thirds lenses that are capable of contrast detection autofocusing. In addition, AF performance for the Leica DG Macro Elmarit 45mm f/2.8 Asph. Mega O.I.S. lens (model H-ES045) has been improved in movie mode.
More details will be available on our news page when the firmware updates are officially released.
