PRESS RELEASE: Frame Rate Conversion Technology for Software and Hardware Applications
Moscow, Russian Fed., June 3, 2010 - YUVsoft Corp., an R&D software company that specializes in video processing, is pleased to announce a new version of its competitive frame rate conversion (FRC) technology.
This latest version of YUVsoft FRC features better stability for cases involving fast, complex motion, such as is common in action movies. The YUVsoft team focused heavily on tuning the algorithm for typical 1080p movie content. As before, YUVsoft FRC supports arbitrary (including fractional) retiming factors as well as any reasonable resolution ranging from QCIF to 1080p. The technology's latest version offers various processing modes for better quality and for faster processing. In addition, it includes a special stand-alone modification for stereo-to-multiview video conversion needed in such applications as 3D autostereoscopic displays.
The FRC technology is available for licensing as source code or as a customizable binary library optimized for x86 processors. YUVsoft can also tailor the algorithm and its implementation to meet specific customer needs. During its lifetime, the technology has been licensed to both software and hardware companies and has produced competitive video quality and stability in many circumstances and under various conditions.
