Tokyo, Japan-based Miyamoto Factory has announced development of a series of lens adapters for Sony E-mount, under its Rayqual brandname.
The new adapters will allow use of Canon FD-, Contax / Yashica, Leica M-, and Nikon F-mount lenses with aperture rings, as well as with Nikon F- and Pentax K-mounts lenses that lack aperture rings, on both the Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5 single-lens direct view cameras. The adapters are scheduled to go on sale from July 2010 in Japan, and provide no electronic communication between camera and lens, nor any autofocus capabilities. Standard Japanese-market pricing is set as follows, including Japanese tax, and ignoring exchange rate fluctuations, other taxes and duties: Adapter Mount Type | Japanese Price (with tax) | Lenses with aperture ring | Leica M | ¥19,950 (US$220) | Nikon F | ¥19,950 (US$220) | Canon FD | ¥19,950 (US$220) | Contax / Yashica | ¥19,950 (US$220) | Lenses without aperture ring | Nikon F (G-type) | ¥25,200 (US$280) | Pentax K (DA type) | ¥25,200 (US$280) | . | Plans for sale in other markets haven't been disclosed.
