CENTER VALLEY, Pa., June 24, 2010 – Olympus, the exclusive title sponsor of the Olympus US Open Series and official sponsor of the US Open, joins forces with top seed American professional doubles tennis players Bob and Mike Bryan, the “Bryan Brothers.” The partnership unites two powerful brands: Olympus and the world’s dominating men’s doubles team. Both are synonymous with quality and precision, and will work together to increase awareness of Olympus’ sponsorship and the sport of tennis. It provides an exceptional opportunity to engage with people interested in active, healthy lifestyles.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled about our partnership with Olympus. It’s great to be working with a company that has been a strong supporter of tennis and the Olympus US Open Series,” said Bob and Mike Bryan. “We immediately were impressed with Olympus’ team, and most especially, their cameras. It’s going to be a lot of fun to use them while on tour.”

Born on April 29, 1978, “The Bryans,” as they are known, are twin brothers recognized worldwide for their trademark chest-bumps after scoring big points. They enjoy support from their fan club known as “Bryan’s Bunch.” The group of more than 200 members wear lime green “Bryan’s Bunch” tees to the many tournaments.

The brothers also are recognized for their aggressive style of play. They both play with single-handed backhands, yet Bob is left-handed and Mike is right-handed. The Bryans are the only two players in professional tennis who use the exact same racquet brand, model, weight and string tension.

“Olympus is excited about the opportunity to sponsor players who not only have great talent, but also share values similar to those of Olympus: high-performance, dedication, commitment, continuous improvement and teamwork,” said Mark Huggins, executive director, Brand Marketing for Olympus Imaging America Inc. “All qualities that Olympus as a company encourages in its employees – making Olympus and the Bryan Brothers a great match!”

Bob and Mike Bryan, the doubles team from Camarillo, California, won their 61st career doubles title Sunday, May 16, 2010, in Madrid, Spain, defeating Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic, 6-3, 6-4. With this victory, the 31-year-old Bryans are tied with Australians Paul Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde for the most career doubles title wins and they shot to the top of the ATP World Tour doubles rankings. The Bryans hope to break the 61-career title record at a Grand Slam event.

Beyond their tennis abilities, Bob and Mike Bryan announced last year their plan to conquer the music world with the help of close friend and accomplished singer/songwriter David Baron. The group, The Bryan Brothers Band Featuring David Baron, will perform on Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day during the 2010 US Open on August 28, 2010. Their debut album, Let It Rip, was released on September 1, 2009. The Olympus US Open Series links 10 summer tournaments to the US Open, creating a cohesive, six-week summer tennis season in North America. Event sites include Atlanta, Los Angeles, Stanford, Washington D.C., San Diego, Toronto, Montreal, Cincinnati and New Haven. More than 1.6 million attendees and 147 million television viewers in 190 countries watched the 2009 Olympus US Open Series tournaments and the US Open combined. Olympus became the title sponsor of the Olympus US Open Series in 2008 and has been a US Open sponsor since 2003.

As with every year, Olympus has planned a variety of exciting activities including the "Capture the Love" photo contest and the "It Must Be Love" video shoot. Special giveaways and photo souvenirs also will be available, enabling tennis fans to capture it all at the 2010 US Open.
