With a 5x wide-angle zoom, a 12.1-megapixel sensor, and a 2.7-inch LCD, the Pentax Optio W90 looks like a pretty good choice in a waterproof, coldproof, go-anywhere rugged digital camera.
We were pleased with the overall image quality, as the Pentax W90 even delivered good corner sharpness and almost no geometric distortion, and full-AF shutter lag was right up there with digital SLRs! For the macro-wildlife photographer, the Pentax W90 includes three LEDs ringing the lens for illuminating subjects as close as 1cm to the lens; and when you're ready to take in the scenery, this digital camera is ready with in-camera panorama stitching and special wide-angle modes. We were pleasantly surprised with the Pentax Optio W90. Click here for our Express Review of the Pentax Optio W90!
