Founded by game development programmer Kornél Lehőcz, Scarab Labs currently offers two products -- a beta Raw file converter for Windows XP / Vista / 7 called Scarab Darkroom, and the Star Filter 2.0 plugin, for which the Windows variant shipped last May. Star Filter 2.0 supports 64-bit operation with Photoshop CS5 on both Mac and Windows systems, and a free demo download is available for either platform. The demo is fully functional and doesn't expire, but does apply a watermark to images.

Star Filter v2.0 is priced at US$50 for either Mac or Windows-based photographers. Windows users who already own Star Filter v1.x can upgrade to the current release for US$10.
