Plustek launches first photo scanner in U.S. market - simple to use and no additional software required

(August 5, 2010) – Plustek Technology Inc., a manufacturer of imaging devices (including portable scanners, sheet fed/flat bed scanners, wide format scanners) and network video recorders for IP cameras, today announced the SmartPhoto P60, the latest offering from Plustek’s award-winning line of scanners. The SmartPhoto P60 converts old photographs into digital files with the touch of a button.

Fast and easy to use, any 4x6 inch photograph can be scanned and imported into a computer in as little as 18 seconds. No additional software is needed to convert or upload photos. Once scanned, digital photos may be shared on-line, thru email, and on digital photo frames just like a photo created by a digital camera. Photos can be viewed with any photo viewing and organizing application including; Microsoft Photo Gallery, Google Picasa, iPhoto and more. The SmartPhoto P60 is great for preserving older photographs that are damaged or beginning to fade. A unique protector sheet is included that allows the user to scan old, fragile or irreplaceable photographs with confidence. The SmartPhoto P60 is powered by an USB port so it may be used anywhere with a Laptop, Netbook, PC or Macintosh computer.
