PRLog (Press Release) – Aug 06, 2010 – Compéred by BBC Springwatch presenter Chris Packham, WildPhotos 2010 promises to be as inspirational as ever with many of the world's best nature photographers already confirmed for the two-day photography symposium held at the Royal Geographical Society, London on 22 & 23 October 2010. An impressive line up of international speakers led by David Doubilet (USA) includes Mark Carwardine (UK), Danny Ellinger (Netherlands), Charlie Hamilton James (UK), Stefano Unterthiner (Italy) and many more.

The keynote presentation at WildPhotos 2010 will be given by David Doubilet, one of underwater's most influential photographers. Join him on a fascinating photographic journey through his career, covering his innovative ways to photograph marine subjects and his discovery that promoting awareness through photography can make a real difference for conservation. The first published collection of his work, Light in the Sea raised the creative stakes of underwater photography and the follow-up volume Water, Light and Time is regarded as a classic.

Nothing irritates TV presenter, active conservationist and photographer Mark Carwardine more than unscrupulous wildlife photographers. As the digital revolution opens up a whole new world of possibilities Carwardine, along with Danny Ellinger director of the Dutch nature photo agency Foto Nature, will host a discussion on the question 'Photographic deceit – how far is a step too far?'

Kathy Moran, senior editor at National Geographic magazine, has produced more than 160 stories for the magazine since 1990 and is always on the lookout for new contributors for its natural history inventory. Moran will join editors from BBC Wildlife and Outdoor Photography magazines in a forum on the future of photography in publishing.

Tim Laman has a reputation for bringing back shots of nearly impossible subjects including some of the most critically endangered birds in the world such as the Nuku Hiva Pigeon and the Visayan Wrinkled Hornbill of the Philippines. Laman will show what in-camera video can do for the photographer.

US photo-journalist Mark Leong will reveal some of his trade secrets; Italian Stefano Unterthiner will explain why it pays to fall in love with your subject and Danny Ellinger from the Netherlands will be looking at new technology and championing the importance of originality.

Fresh from his recent BBC series Halcyon River Diaries Charlie Hamilton James will share his technical tips for low light, high speed and under water. Other top photographers among the 20 experts sharing their tips and tricks over the two-day programme include Sandra Bartocha (Germany), Peter Cairns (UK), Joe Cornish (UK), Karen Glaser (USA), Laurent Geslin (France) and Klaus Nigge (Germany).

The event will close with a series of unique behind the scenes presentations by winners of the 2010 Veolia Environnement Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition (winners names to be announced on 21 October 2010).
