muvee’s Online Private Sharing Site Revamped to Include Premium Movie-making Features from Cloud-based GPU Servers

Las Vegas, NV (January 8, 2011) – muvee, the pioneer and leader in home movie-making software and services, today announced shwup.com has re-launched to enhance the muvee-making process with user-requested features and cloud-based GPU-powered servers.

muvee launched shwup.com in 2009 as a solution for muvee’s desktop software users to share photos, video and muvees online simply and privately. A version of muvee’s award-winning automatic video editing software was also offered as a free feature for users to make muvees from their photos, video and music as well as a pre-included style.

With the re-launch of the site users will now have access to over 50 muvee styles, with 5 now currently available. Additional new features include location-based tagging, pre-included licensed music, and a new instant re-mix feature. muvees made by others can be instantly re-mixed with different styles/music combinations. Users can now preview the new muvees made instantly without having to wait for server side rendering to complete.

To decrease the saving time, shwup.com has also deployed cloud-based GPU servers to render graphics- intensive muvees. HD muvees will now be rendered faster than real time.

Sharing has also been made easier. Shared albums on shwup can be exported to Facebook. Albums can also be synchronized with those on Facebook so new photos will be added to the corresponding Facebook album.

“shwup was built on a simple premise: not all Facebook moments are meant to be shared with everyone; yet, all of us have smaller networks with whom we still want to share and occasionally, un-share,” said Terence Swee, Founder and CEO of muvee. “shwup users have been careful to start sharing with a small group, and gradually upload parts of their shwup album to Facebook. They are able to maintain easy control and always able to “unpost” their photos. By deploying advanced systems, we are also able to satisfy their desire for instant movie previews when they collaboratively remix their albums into professional-looking movies.”

With most features will still be offered completely free, users can now purchase downloads of muvees in HD and high-quality prints of shwup albums for a small fee. muvees made can be downloaded in Video DVD format, 1080p Blu-ray quality, or physical discs can be ordered and shipped to the user.
