Olympus Corp. has issued an update for its Viewer 2 application on both the Windows and Macintosh platforms.

Olympus Viewer 2 version 1.11 for Windows and Macintosh includes several changes from the previous v1.1 release, issued last Fall. Most significantly, Viewer 2 v1.11 adds support for Olympus' recently-announced E-PL2 and XZ-1 digital camera models, both of which were just announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition, Viewer 2 v1.11 adds a history list to the navigation area, a new art effect function to the art filter options available in raw processing and image editing, and a function allowing edit settings to be copied and pasted between images in the image edit window.

The new release also fixes a couple of issues in the previous release. These include a problem preventing Viewer 2 from running on some SSE-enabled systems, and a crash bug when developing multiple raw images. Finally, the function for adjusting time differences through the Edit Shooting Date All dialog has been improved.

The new Olympus Viewer 2 version 1.11 update is available immediately from the Olympus website, or from the Help :: Update Software menu item.
