Compared to the existing Sony Alpha SLT-A55V, A55 and A33 models, the new concept camera -- shown as a clear plastic mockup -- adds a secondary info LCD panel on the top deck, along with a wide range of external controls, including twin control dials, and what looks to be a rear-panel joystick similar to those seen previously in the DSLR-A700, A900, and A850. The mockup also includes an articulated LCD display, and what looks likely to be a stereo microphone grille located directly in front of the flash hot shoe. Also on display are mockups of the 'advanced model' DSLR and 500mm f/4 G lens previously shown at Photokina, all situated in a display case labeled 'To be launched in 2011'.
Further photos show mockups of upcoming Sony NEX-series lenses, along with a Japanese-language lens roadmap that can also be seen on Sony's own website. This indicates that NEX owners can look forward to a 24mm Zeiss-branded lens, along with a 55-200mm telephoto zoom, a 30mm macro lens, and a 50mm portrait lens in 2011. Plans in 2012 call for a Sony G-branded high performance standard zoom, plus a wide angle zoom and a mid-telephoto prime.
More details for those who speak Japanese, plus plenty of eye candy for those who don't, can be found in the Impress DC Watch article.
