Japan's Olympus Corp. has today released updated firmware for three of its digital camera models: the E-5 digital SLR, the PEN E-PL2 single-lens direct view camera, and the XZ-1 fixed lens compact.
Information on the E-5 and PL2 firmware can be found on the joint update service for Olympus E-system website, while the XZ-1 firmware is located on the website of Olympus Europe. (None of the updates have yet appeared on Olympus USA's support pages for the E-5, PL2, and XZ-1, although we'd imagine they'll be available there in the near future. The Olympus E-5 firmware v1.1 corrects an issue with the color compensation set for the rear-panel LCD display being reset incorrectly. Olympus E-PL2 firmware v1.1, meanwhile, changes the default settings for the Fisheye effect, Wide-angle, and Macro scene modes to use the camera's optical image stabilizer. Finally, Olympus XZ-1 firmware v1.1 fixes an unspecified problem that occurred when the Power button was pressed on an attached, dedicated flash strobe. More details can be found on the joint update service and Olympus Europe websites, respectively.
