Available exclusively from Canon's online store, the new versions of the Rebel T3 mirror those released for the overseas equivalent model, the EOS 1100D. The new body colors are red, brown, and metallic gray, and in all cases the cameras ship by default in a kit including a standard black EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens.
Announced last February, the Canon Rebel T3 is a replacement for the mid-2008 Rebel XS, and incorporates a range of updates to bring the camera up to date, including a new twelve megapixel image sensor and DIGIC 4 processor. Other features of the Canon EOS T3 include an ISO sensitivity range of 100 to 6,400 equivalents, 2.7-inch LCD display, nine-point AF system, a 63 segment dual layer metering chip, high-def 720p movie shooting capability, HDMI video output, and an SDXC card storage slot.
Available since March 2011 with a black body, the EOS Rebel T3 is available through the end of July with the 18-55mm IS II kit lens at a discounted price of US$550. Bundles with other lens kits can be purchased at up to a $200 discount over MSRP pricing.
