PRESS RELEASE: Introducing Zacuto's FS100 Filmmaker Kit
CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Jul 13, 2011) - Zacuto is proud to present the first camera stabilization rig designed specifically for Sony's new FS100 HD video camera. The FS100 Filmmaker Kit is an in-line shoulder mounted kit that allows shooters to mount the Zacuto EVF on the side of the camera by using the Zacuto EVF Rod Mount. This mounting configuration gives this camera setup the feel of a traditional ENG camera package.
Producer/Director Tirso Suarez says, "The rig and all its parts are incredibly sturdy and well manufactured. I've just spent last weekend putting the kit together. It works perfectly fine. I'm impressed!"
While the FS100 Filmmaker Kit is specifically designed for the Sony FS100, it can also be used with other video cameras similar to the FS100.
"We created a specific kit for the FS100 as it has a little different platform than the other video cameras like it. It still uses the trusty Universal Baseplate as the base but we had to add a spacer (Z-spacer) to raise the lens to the correct height for aligning the matte box," says Zacuto VP of sales and marketing, Mandy Rogers.
You won't need to use a Z-spacer with cameras like the Sony F3 or the Panasonic AG-AF100 or if you are using the FS100 without a matte box.
The FS100 Filmmaker Kit includes a Zacuto Shoulder Pad, dual handgrip configuration, a follow focus, a lens support and a cheeseplate (Zacuto Zwiss Plate) that allows you to attach professional batteries and the AJA Ki Pro mini. When used with professional batteries, the Zwiss plate will also act as a counter balance weight when shooting handheld. This is just the starting platform for the kit. Additional accessories can be added to create your own kit.
"We also have some other accessories for the FS100, like a new top handle we are working on. Every FS100 owner will love this handle, available late summer 2011," says Rogers.
