Jeff Keller tries out Casio's diminutive QV-3EX...
Our friends over at the Digital Camera Resource Page have now posted their review of Casio's QV-3EX digital camera. What did they think of this 3.3 megapixel, fixed focal length camera which features 340MB Microdrive storage and even a histogram feature? "The Casio QV-3EX is a full-featured, small, easy-to-use camera, that I would recommend unconditionally if it had just one more feature: an optical zoom lens. At $800, it's overpriced. The 340MB IBM Microdrive sells for around $360 retail, so I would imagine that it's considerably less from an OEM standpoint. If you deduct, say, $300 for the Microdrive, you're left with a $500 camera. Casio's QV-3000EX Plus camera is larger, but a 3X optical zoom, shutter priority mode, and more -- for the same price. I can't recommend a camera this pricey that doesn't have a zoom lens, unfortunately." For the full story along with sample images and a video clip, read the DCRP's Casio QV-3EX review...
