Steve Sanders and Phil Askey try out Canon's 2.1 megapixel 3x zoom digicam...
Our friends at the Digital Photography Review and Steve's Digicams websites have both posted reviews of Canon's PowerShot A20 digital camera in the last couple of days. The A20, first announced at PMA 2001 last February, received a positive conclusion from Steve in his review: "Canon's new PowerShot A20 is an excellent choice for those desiring an easy to use and compact size two-megapixel camera. The overall image quality ... is on par with the other 2-megapixel cameras and is what I would call very good. The bottom line is that this is an excellent camera for those that just want to take good pictures without fussing with any controls. Turn it on, frame the shot, press the button -- you're done." In his review, Phil was equally pleased with the camera: "The A20 delivers excellent image quality, colour balance and performance (good speed) at an affordable price, indeed I'm sure we'll see street prices quite a bit lower than the $500 we've used as our "consideration amount" for this review. If you're looking for an entry level 2 megapixel digital camera with a 3x zoom and don't mind about the ultra-compact size of the IXUS 300 or movie clips then the A20 should be somewhere near (if not at the) top of your list." Note that if you've already read Phil's review, you may not have seen the updated accessories page which now includes the WP-DC200 waterproof case for the camera. Likewise, Phil has updated his PowerShot S300 review to add the WP-DC100 waterproof case for that camera...
